
RAM Grinding was established in 1973 and has been a cornerstone in the machine shop industry ever since. Under the leadership of James Horton, who took over in 1993, we have built a reputation for quality and reliability.

Our team of highly skilled machinists have 128 years of combined experience and expertise in the field. We are dedicated to providing our clients with exceptional service and quality workmanship.
James Horton - Owner
James began his career at Sundstrand Aviation in Denver in 1962. He learned on Brown & Sharpe O.D. grinders and Bryant I.D. grinders. James later moved into Gear grinding, using Detroit, Reishauer and Kapp Gear grinders.
In the early 1980's, James moved to Singapore, along with his family, where he trained new and existing employees for 3 years at Sundstrand, in the art of grinding.
After nearly 30 years at Sundstrand, James moved to the School of Mines and began working as an instrument maker.
James purchased RAM Grinding in 1993.
Kelly Horton - Co Owner
Kelly graduated high school in 1989 then attended Warren Tech in Jefferson County for 3 years for machining.
After Warren Tech, Kelly worked at Triad Machine Tool for 1 year, then Mark Williams Enterprises for 5 years machining Ford 9" third members.
Kelly joined the RAM family business in 1994.
Donovan Horton - Co Owner
Donovan graduated high school in 1991, then attended American Diesel College where he graduated early in his field in 1992.
After diesel college, Donovan worked at Wagner Equipment Company as a Caterpillar Diesel mechanic for 4 1/2 years.
Donovan joined the RAM family in 1996.
